Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a vibrant city with a plethora of sights to see. From the historical architecture to the delicious food, there is something for everyone to discover in Madrid. My wife and I were fortunate enough to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Madrid.
The Plaza Mayor is one of Madrid's most iconic attractions. Built in the 17th century, this grand square is surrounded by ornate buildings and is the perfect place to people-watch or grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafes.
Food is an important part of Spanish culture, and Madrid is the perfect place to experience the best dishes of the region. From traditional scrambled eggs to Iberian ham and artisanal cheeses, there is something to satisfy all tastes. In addition, the city is known for its excellent wine and beer.
Retiro Park is one of Madrid's largest parks, with over 118 hectares of lush gardens, tranquil ponds, and scenic pathways. It is a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic or take a leisurely stroll. During our time in the park, we visited the Palacio de Cristal which had an art exhibit going on.
