Paris, France
Paris is a beautiful city of romance, history and culture. It has a lot of things to offer to tourists, from the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to small streets with cafes.
It has a population of 2.2 million people and is the most visited city in Europe. The average summer temperature in Paris can reach up to 23 degrees Celsius with little rainfall or humidity. This was our first time in Paris, and we explored as much as we could in the short time that we had.
The Eiffel Tower is the most famous landmark in Paris, France. The tower is a symbol of Paris and France. It is one of the most visited monuments in the world with around 7 million people visiting it every year. The tower could be seen from all over the city, peeking between buildings.
The City of Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements, or districts. The first two are in the center of Paris and are called "the island" because they are surrounded by rivers on three sides. The other 18 districts extend outwards from there in rings, each named after its distance from the center: they are numbered outward from Ier arrondissement (the 1st district) at the centre, through XIIe arrondissement (the 12th district).
We made sure to visit the Palace of Versailles, located just outside Paris. It is a symbol of the power and wealth of France, but it’s also an architectural masterpiece and one of the most visited tourist attractions in Europe. The palace has over 1,500 rooms with more than 2 million square feet (200,000 square meters) and it covers an area equivalent to 20 city blocks. This makes it the largest royal castle in Europe by surface area, as well as one of the largest castles on Earth! The palace was built by King Louis XIV in 1682 as a grand residence for the French Royal Family.
Although the trip was very short, we enjoyed seeing this iconic city together for the first time.
