Brussels

Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is a charming and vibrant city that offers a delightful blend of history, culture, and fun. It was the ideal destination for our short getaway. One of the places to visit on our list was the Belgian Comic Strip Center, located near the heart of the city. The museum is dedicated to the history of Belgian comics, featuring a vast collection of comics, including the famous Tintin and Smurfs series. It was fascinating place to explore, even as a casual fan of graphic novels. Belgium is known for their world-renowned chocolates. We found chocolate shops in almost every corner of the city, offering a range of flavours and styles. One of the most famous chocolatiers is Mary’s, we made sure to try the pralines, truffles, and other chocolates at their flagship store. Of course, no visit to Belgium is complete without trying their famous french fries. In Brussels, they're called frites and are served in a cone with a variety of dipping sauces, from classic mayonnaise to more unusual flavours like truffle or curry ketchup. We found frites stalls throughout the city. The giant Ferris wheel in the city centres an incredible ride, and gave a panoramic view of the city, it was an unforgettable experience. Most of our time was spent on leisurely strolls around the city centre, where we found some of Brussels' most famous landmarks. From the Grand Palace, with its magnificent architecture, to the Manneken Pis, the iconic bronze statue of a little boy peeing, there's was no shortage of sights to see.
